After dating for a year and a half Rigardt decided to ask Thalita to marry him. Today we feature Rigardt & Thalita’s engagement shoot with a beautiful view of the surroundings of Magalies Mountain in Pretoria. The perfect location for an engagement photoshoot. The couple got engaged at the Hakerville hiking trial, because they love the outdoors and hiking. They also knew it would be quiet and private.
You have to read more about this beautiful couple’s engagement. It was just as scenic as today’s engagement shoot. Thalita’s engagement ring is a beautiful rose gold band with a single oval diamond from Beaudell Jewellery. We love it! Enjoy the beautiful photographs taken by the talented Carolien and Ben Photography.
Engagement Story:
21 of December 2018. We were on holiday in Wilderness for December with Rigardt’s family. It was a Friday morning and we decided to go for a hike at Hakerville coastal hiking trail. When we arrived they said it was still closed due to the fires from the previous year. We should try another one which is more inland and not a coastal hike. We drove back towards the other trial and heard that the Hakerville coastal trail just opened. It opened the day before so we drove all the way back to the start again.
So we started the trial with a long descent down, but when we eventually reached the beach my breath was blown away. There was no one else, just us and the beautiful beach. Rigardt has a drone and wants to fly it everywhere. I am used to waiting for him while he is trying to get the drone ready for action. Me, not knowing he is trying to get it ready so he can take a video of him proposing.
When he finally got it ready he asked me to stand up and look at the drone so he can take a picture. As I was standing up he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. At the end of the hike, we have to go all the way back up again. It was tough and very hot. We decided to go for a swim at Leisure Island, Knysna to cool off and to look better for the engagement party. We dated for a year and a half before we got engaged.
Tell us more about the wedding day:
We are getting married on 12 October at Ever Be Wedding venue. The theme of the venue is French Industrial so we are trying to keep it with the style of the venue. The colours are blush, duck egg and white. We love flowers so we are trying to use as many flowers as we can, incorporating some glass and wood giving it different textures.
