We feature the Fun Simplistic Bloemfontein Wedding of Pieter & Mariska. They got married on May 11th, 2019 at Pepper Tree Venue & Guest House. Mariska fell in love with this venue when they attended a function at the venue the previous year. We love natural light and that’s something this wedding has a lot of, especially at the ceremony.
Pieter and Mariska’s wedding has a simplistic feel to it with floral designs standing out and drawing your attention. Floral Designs can change the entire look of a wedding venue and or the wedding decor. The talented wedding photographer, Go Urban Film and Photography photographed this stunning wedding so well! Enjoy this couple’s wedding and remember to share it with your friends.
Engagement Story:
We got engaged on a friend’s farm. Pieter and our good friend Michall cycled to the farm just outside Edenburg in the Free State. I was the pick-up. “Oh no,” Pieter said when I got to the farm, “ I forgot my jacket in the veld”. We drove to this tree and there was this setup of a target that I needed to shoot. Lille did I know that once I shot the thing the big question would pop up! My engineering fiancé designed the whole thing. Luckily it was a bullseye!
Wedding Dress:
My everyday style is either very simplistic or very bold. So my dress would have to reflect this. When we were discussing the material with the designer I said all I wanted was cotton lace. I did not have a set idea about my dress, it was trial and error to find the perfect fit and material to fit my style and my body.
Favorite Wedding Memory:
We had a discussion about this a lot in the months since the wedding and both of us always confirm that the whole day was special and memorable. It was just perfect.
Venue Choice:
Those windows in the chapel had me from the beginning. I attended a small function the previous year that was held in the chapel and fell in love with the view. My minimalist mind loved that it was simplistic and clean.
The Honeymoon:
We went to Mtunzini Forrest Lodge near Durban. The most peaceful place was the buck walk in the street at night and the birds are your wakeup call. We also made a visit to Mozambique and laid on the beach from sun up to sundown.
Decor Inspiration:
We both have a very simplistic way of looking at the world and we wanted to reflect that in our decor. I wanted two different table setups with lots of flowers and gave the florist full range from the beginning.
Wedding Colours:
Our colors were dusty blue primarily, with accents of white and gold. I got the inspiration from a picture I saw on Pinterest.
Wedding Cake:
My sister baked it!
Pieter and I have a love for cake and I always had this idea for a dessert table that was baked by my friends and family, but once I realized how many cakes and tarts that would be we asked my sister (that is not a baker) to bake our favorite cake, Carrot.
Musical Choices:
We had a meet and greet with our DJ the Wednesday before the wedding and gave him free rein for musical choice. He did a great job! We only had a few songs that we wanted: I walked into the chapel on Can’t help falling in love by Kina Grannis. We entered the reception on Axwell & Ingrosso a New day and our first dace was Riana Nel Soos die son.
