Suites and Villa’s at Tsala Treetop Lodge:
There are ten private suites which each have one bedroom. Then there are six Villa’s that have two bedrooms each. The suites and villa’s look almost identical, obviously the Villa is just slightly bigger than the suites. If you are a couple we suggest you book a Suite or if you want loads of space, why not? Just book the Villa then.
When we arrived at our suite the first thing we saw when walking on to the open deck area was our overflowing swimming pool and the amazing view we have. Breathtaking!
Amenities in the Suites and Villas:
All their suites and villas include free Wi-Fi! So important for all those social media posts of your honeymoon. There’s a fireplace, hairdryer, safe to keep your valuable items in, luxurious towels and slippers. Then there’s also umbrella’s if it might be a rainy day. There’s also a mini-bar as well as tea and coffee facilities in the suites and villas. Obviously, do all the suites and villas have air conditioning.
This is not just a normal suite! It’s massive you have a large living space with a desk and coffee station and more than enough comfortable seating space. The fireplace goes through from the living space to the bedroom. The glass doors and windows are insane! Probably the best view you will get.
Bathroom:
Our bathroom. Oh, my word! Can we just take a moment to breathe? This was a selling point for us. The bath is in the middle of the bathroom with loads of cupboard space and a massive area at the basins. There’s a large indoor as well as an outdoor shower. We showered outside! I mean you have to. It’s not every day where you get to shower in nature in a forest surrounded by birds.
You have your very own luxury overflowing swimming pool on the deck with space for you to tan and relax. The swimming pool has the most amazing views of the forest. We enjoyed the sunset in the pool with a bottle of wine and some finger snacks. This was out of this world. South-Africa really is such a gorgeous country.

Perfect South-African honeymoon spot:
You are surrounded by nature and the lodge is located right on top of the forest, so you have the most amazing views. If you love nature and luxury like we do at Vivacious Weddings, this will be your dream honeymoon location.
The African inspired architecture and decor fit in so well with the location of the lodge. Trees overgrow the lodge and give it a tranquil feel. The birdlife is also amazing and the sound of chirping birds relaxes you.
Wooden decks on the outside and large glass windows allow you to have that inside-outside feel while walking through the lodge area.
Our experience at Tsala Treetop Lodge:
It is a five and a half-hour drive from Cape Town. However, you can always fly to George airport and rent a car. This way you don’t have to drive all the way. We were greeted at our car the moment we stopped. The friendly porter immediately took our luggage out of the card while we went to check-in at the reception.
While checking in we enjoyed a lovely glass of wine while the General Manager of the lodge came to welcome us. It is always special when the staff at a hotel is friendly and welcoming. We felt at home immediately.
At the main lodge:
If you love to walk around and experience the different spaces at the lodge, then you might want to go walk around or relax at the main lodge. They have a well-stocked library and an honesty bar. There’s also a wine cellar and a lounge with two fireplaces.
There is a curio and retail store where you can buy gifts for your family and friends. Then there are also various decks where you can sit and relax.
At the lodge, there’s also a 24-hour room service which you can order to your suite or villa.
Food and Drinks:
Zinzi Restaurant:
The word Zinzi means an ‘abundance’ in Swahili. This beautiful restaurant is located within walking distance from Tsala Treetop Lodge. It forms part of the Hunter Hotels group and is an amazing space to enjoy lunches and dinners.

Their breakfast spread is one of the best ones we have experienced in South-Africa. There are loads of different options to choose from. You will love it. If you like fresh fruits then there’s loads of it. Different kinds of cold meats and then you also get to choose a warm breakfast from their breakfast menu.
Activities in the area:
Tsala Treetop Lodge is quite centrally located and you don’t need a 4×4 to get there. We drove our sporty car in there easily without any trouble.
There are loads of different activities in the area. Whether you want to see wildlife in the area, go shopping or just take a drive or go for a hike. You are covered.
