Kaapsehoop engagement session of Donovan & Unaresa

When you are fortunate enough to have a job that allows you to travel, you seldom come across hidden jewels.  Unaresa works for JJCLick and very often gets to travel and experience places she’s never seen before.  But for her, nothing comes to the beautiful scenery of Kaapsehoop in Nelspruit.  I while ago, when she and Janco from JJCLick did an engagement shoot there, she promised herself that Kaapsehoop will be the location for her engagement photo’s as well – no matter the distance.  Her dream finally came true after Donovan proposed in August 2018.

Donovan and Unaresa wanted to try something different from the everyday engagement shoot and locations.  They hired modern decor, furniture and floral to compliment the scenery.  The end result was spectacular!

Engagement Story:

After 11 years and 6 months, Donovan finally asked the big question that I have been dreaming of for so many years!

With our cross border adventure to Botswana and Zambia during August 2018, I had no idea or expectation that this would be the most memorable adventure and that we will be heading back to South Africa as an engaged couple.

The big day arrived on the third day of our 17-day adventure.  A long day of driving from Khama Rhino Sanctuary in Palapye to the magnificent Nxai Pan National Park for a night of camping on the salt pans under the African sky.  Arriving at the edge of the pan were the famous Baines baobab tree majestically stands, Donovan asked the big question with the most beautiful sunrise in Africa.

The rest is history.

Engagement Location:

Bains Baobabs, Nxai Pan National Park, Botswana.  You simply can’t find a more beautiful sunset or sunrise than in Botswana on the salt pans

Engagement rings:

Our rings are made of rose gold and beautiful Morganite stone.  The idea for my ring was formed by Donovan and designed by Desert Rose.  Donovan took all the Pinterest photos on my profile and formed the ring of my dreams.
