Deep Colors Wedding Inspiration at Rock Island. This styled shoot will show you all the ropes on how to break away from traditional wedding rules and follow your own authentic ideas. The objective of this wedding inspiration is to show brides that no matter what the season, you can go as deep into color as your heart desires!
The planning and hard work that went into this styled shoot, all came together at Rock Island Lake Club near New York City in the United States. This nature filled-setting created a magical paradise, overlooking the Rock Island Lake. The venue pride themselves in the fact that they break away from the traditional banquet facility and help their couples create an authentic wedding true to their own style. The beautiful deep and dark floral designs were the biggest statements of the shoot. The dark mood was balanced out by a soft orchestra creating a calm element in the dramatic atmosphere.

The Wedding Dress:
This specific gown was chosen because of its illustrious detail and parallel design to our inspiration. It was designed as an ode to the romantic elegance of Romeo and Juliet. The beautiful lace starts from the top of the dress all the way to its beautiful train. It also has stunning detail in the back lining of the dress.
The inspiration behind the styled shoot:
My main goal of the shoot was to show brides that they can go as deep into color as they would like for their weddings, no matter what the season. Don’t be afraid to go deep in color! With our luck, it rained on this day, but it was perfect for the moody vibe that we wanted to relay.
Location:
I chose Rock Island Lake Club because of their stunning architecture. The venue is built beautifully and is surrounded by so many beautiful spaces. You can have your ceremony overlooking the beautiful Rock Island Lake. There is also a nearby forest with a wooden swing to enjoy. The venue itself are filled with so many details in every! It is an automatic paradise for a bridal couple.
Floral Designs:
The floral designs are the biggest statement of this wedding. A Petal to Peddle is such a talented company. It was a no brainer to have them on our vendor team! They created stunning floral designs and combined the colors so well that it played right into the riskiness of colors that we were combining. The selections of floral arrangements were so beautiful, that we are still left in awe as we look at these photos. Talk about show stopping!
Decor Inspiration:
The tablescape is a true inspiration for brides! We used so many different textures and colors to show how you can marry so many colors and still have an elegant result. We gave a nod to the acrylic style by having our main components in acrylic: the vows, seating chart, and wedding sign. Calligraphy signage adds an extra touch of elegance to any occasion, so we always incorporate it wherever we can.
The moody vibe effect was complimented by the candles on the tables with the numbers written on them, by the talented Write Pretty For Me. We had a stunning seating chart created on black acrylic to add a bit more of a drama to the moody effect. We had a live orchestra to bring a softness to the moodiness. Dark colors seem to come across more dramatic and deep, but this live orchestra gave a tender touch to our bridal couple as they danced in candlelight. Last but not least, we chose unique rugs instead of an aisle runner to show brides that you can get as creative as you want, even with the path you take down the aisle!
Advice to couples planning their big day:
My biggest advice to couples who are planning their wedding would be to get as creative as possible with the details. There are so many things that go into your special day. It’s important to be able to look around and see everything that exudes your love story. Also, incorporate tangible memories! There is a lot that you’ll only have for the wedding day, so be creative with your decor and have things that you can cherish afterwards, such as acrylic vow boards like we did! You can hold on to those special words forever. Most importantly, hire an on-the-day-coordinator. There are so many outlets to give you inspiration for your wedding, but nothing is better than having a designated person who is there to execute your entire vision without you having to lift a finger!
