Romantic Boho-Chic Wedding Inspiration

Romantic Boho-Chic Wedding Inspiration.  When you search Bohemian wedding on Google or Pinterest, you will find an extremely versatile set of images.  The bohemian theme has become an umbrella under which various other varieties of bohemian themed weddings fall.  This group of service providers combined bohemian with chic to create stunning wedding inspiration for 2020 and 2021 brides.  One of their main aims was to show that even though you choose a bohemian theme, your wedding does not necessarily have to be outdoors.  They brought dried floral and different textures to The Conservatory in Franschhoek and focused on bringing the outside, in.

The story behind this styled shoot:

We were inspired through the popular, yet very versatile Bohemian trend.  The aim was to create a setting that would inspire future brides and give them a feel of how one can combine bohemian with a touch of chic, adding textures and feminine floral.  “Boho” is such a popular theme choice for a wedding and with all the options and ideas you find online, we really wanted to showcase our own take of this popular trend and how you can make it unique.

We found inspiration through nature and concentrated on bringing the outside, in.

The story behind the wedding gown?

Because of our Boho-Chic theme, we needed a gown that offers simplicity, but with lots of movement and comfort.  We dressed our model in the very popular Roxy Gown by Anna Georgina Bridal.  This gown is flowy, romantic, and just a little revealing with lace textured floral details – perfect for any boho-bride.  The beautiful soft beading and shimmer details on the dress give it that little extra feeling of “chic”.

Floral Designs:

When thinking about flowers, we knew we wanted to keep it as bohemian as possible.  We had in mind lots of dried floral and different textures, but all in the same color family.  When thinking about the hippy era and “flower power” you remember lots of textures and nude, warm color-tones.

Dried flowers complimented with some lace floral pulled the whole look together.

Flowers are an important aspect of any boho themed setting.  For our take on this trend, we kept it simple, full of texture with a pop of feminine color, just to add a little chic element.

Location:

We knew we wanted a setting that is in nature, with a beautiful view and lots of greenery.  We opted for an inside venue to show brides that bohemian is still possible, even if you do not have an outdoor location.  The Conservatory in Franschhoek is the perfect venue for an intimate setting.  The beautiful glass structured venue invited the outside in.  The venue also has the most beautiful fireplace which would be perfect for a winter wedding.  Seeing our shoot was in the summer, we decorated the fireplace with candles to get a slightly warm feeling of romance.

Advice from the professionals:

When it comes to wedding planning, there will be a lot of influence and opinions.  At the end of the day, it is your special day!  Choose the flowers you like, the gown you love, and whatever else makes you and your future husband happy.  The day is all about love – the love you share with each other, with your family and your friends and that will be seen in your photographs.

Choose a photographer with experience in the wedding industry.  Go through their portfolio and see if you love their style of images.  The photographs are all you’ll have left of your wedding day years from now.  Keep in mind that less really is more – it isn’t just a saying.  Choose your service providers wisely and remember to have fun planning and choosing things you and your groom loves, no matter the opinions and influence there might be from others.
