We are excited to share the Eastern Cape engagement shoot of Ulrich & Nadia with you. They have such an amazing proposal story. Ulrich spontaneously proposed to Nadia in Tokyo, Japan. They were on a little boat on Lake Ueno in beautiful Ueno Park in Tokyo. Ulrich said he thought it was the perfect moment. This is every girl’s dream. To be om exciting overseas trip and get asked to marry the love of your life.
Ulrich & Nadia wanted to have their engagement shoot in the Eastern-Cape. We love the Eastern Cape ourselves. So much greenery, amazing landscapes and friendly people. Michelle Guziński, a talented wedding photographer based in East London, South-Africa photographed their engagement. We love Michelle’s photography work. It’s so vivid and sharp, yet so realistic. The couple also explained that they trusted Michelle’s implicitly that the images would be stunning

Engagement Story:
Ulrich: I had known for a long time that I wanted to marry Nadia. We were planning our first overseas trip together to Japan, where we would watch South Africa in the 2019 Rugby World Cup and travel around Japan seeing the amazing sights and culture. I thought this would be the best time to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me, as we would be making so many new and special memories on our trip. Ulrich very sneakily packed the ring into his backpack during our trip to Japan and waited for “the perfect moment” to pop the question.
Nadia: I was so surprised when I turned around Ulrich was there with a ring in his hands, asking me to marry him. I said yes without hesitation. The spontaneity of the moment was absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t change anything about it. Our trip to Japan was so memorable and getting engaged to Ulrich made it so much more special.
Wedding Sneak Peak:
Our perfect wedding would be one where our family and friends are there to celebrate with us. Most of Ulrich’s family lives overseas so it would be so special if they can be there on our wedding day.
We will be getting married at Olivewood Estate, Chintsa, Eastern Cape, South Africa – a gorgeous lush private estate and golf course.
The Engagement Ring:
In July 2019, I (Ulrich) asked Nadia’s parents blessing (while she was away on call at the hospital) and then I went to a private Jeweller to get her ring made. I decided on a clean-cut round 1,45 ct diamond with a platinum band, that she would be proud to wear and I knew she would love something that wasn’t too busy or embellished. Then I also made sure to lower the clasp of the ring so it wouldn’t rip her gloves at work!
I (Nadia) love my ring. It’s the perfect ring for me- he knows me so well. The fact that he put so much thought into all aspects of the ring makes me so happy.
