The Romantic Wedding of Aneesa & Charles in Stellenbosch

We are doing a little happy dance in the office!  In this article, we showcase the Romantic Wedding of Aneesa & Charles in Stellenbosch.  Charles and Aneesa, who currently lives in the United Kingdom flew to South Africa to celebrate their wedding day with family and friends in Stellenbosch.

Aneesa looked breathtaking in her Ronald Joyce wedding gown. We are totally in love with the details of her wedding gown.

They married at Landtscap, a gorgeous modern concrete and glass structure venue between the fruit trees and vineyards.  With picturesque views over the farm landscapes and majestic mountains in the background, it’s the ideal wedding venue in Stellenbosch.

Their ceremony was outside with the mountains in the distance as the background for their wedding guests to enjoy.  An absolutely stunning round arch framed the couple beautifully during the ceremony.  The arch is a combination of dried-out and fresh flowers! Absolutely picture-perfect and something for your Pinterest board.

Talented wedding photographer, Samantha Clifton captured every moment of this gorgeous couple’s wedding in the most beautiful captivating memories which will last a lifetime. We love that they incorporated various different entertainment into their wedding day like drummers, dancers and even an African Jazz Quartet.

Swoon alert!  Their wedding decor is so pretty. The shades of autumn colours are just amazing and work so well in this space.  With shades of tangerines, ivory, olive and touches of blue, Creative Nook created the most amazing floral art. The table settings are still minimalistic with a focus on the flowers. Different gold-sprayed animals were used on the tables with the gold written name cards attached to them.

Wedding Dress:

I went with my Sister to try a Ronald Joyce dress it was beautiful but didn’t really suit me. As we were walking out, I saw a dress hung on the side, I think somebody had tried it and it was meant to be put away, I asked if I could try it on. It looked amazing on me considering it was everything I initially did not want but it fit me like a glove. A gorgeous cap sleeve with crystal beaded lace. It was a fit and flare with a low back.

Extra special moments:

We were blessed with an amazing photographer, she made me as a bride feel like a supermodel on my special day. She managed to capture really beautiful moments that we will treasure forever. We are so grateful to all our groomsmen, bridesmaids guests and wedding vendors for making our day extra special.

Advice to couples planning their wedding:

I would say, invest in a wedding planner who gets you and who will bring your vision to life! You want your wedding to showcase both your and your spouse’s characters. We went with San Marie from Creative Nook, she is super talented and absolutely amazing.

Our second bit of advice is to enjoy every minute of your wedding, it will go fast from the moment you walk down the aisle, and you want to remember every moment. If anything goes wrong, just focus and get lost in your partner’s eyes. You are doing it for you 2, just enjoy each other!

Engagement Story:

We got engaged 4 years before our wedding day. We used to live 5 hours apart and knew we wanted to be together forever so we decided to have Lobola. It is a traditional engagement ceremony. This is where his family goes to my family to pay a dowry to ask for my hand.

The Venue:

We chose our wedding venue after looking at a few in Stellenbosch. Both of us wanted to get married in Stellenbosch as we had family there and seemed really beautiful. We chose Landtscap because we fell in love with the views at first, then started speaking to the staff they were absolutely amazing from day one! It was surrounded had amazing views of the Stellenbosch mountains, and modern space and the service we received from Tammy made us pick Landtscap over all the other venues.

The inspiration behind the wedding decor:

We wanted a day that would showcase who we are as a couple, an African couple living in the UK, so we wanted this to come through in our decor. We went for a romantic rustic look with a little boho feel to it.

Wedding Colours and Inspiration behind them:

We went for autumn colours inspired by sub-Saharan colours we went for tangerines, ivory, olive and a touch of blue to match the groom’s suit.

Wedding Cake:

I wanted a cake that not only looked gorgeous but was delicious to eat too. We Went for vanilla and red velvet cake, we used the cake as part of our dessert. It was a 4-tier, very elegant, simple looking but the dazzling gold leaf catapulted it to something magnificent. We went with a company called Mixing bowl cake company, they had made cakes for a few South African celebrities and our wedding planner recommended them so I knew they would be the best for what we were looking for! It had our main wedding colours on the edible flowers.

Musical choices:

  • As our guests came in for the outdoor ceremony there were welcomed by a Zimbabwean Marimba band,
  • During the ceremony, the DJ played music as the bridesmaids and flower girls walked to “Blinded by your grace ” by Stormzy
  • The bride and Father of the bride walked to “When I found love” by Bebe and CeCe Winans
  • Zulu dancers performed during the canapés and pre-drinks
  • Had an African jazz band, play as our guests ate their evening meal
  • To get the party started, we had a reggae singer do some reggae covers
  • After that DJ Morgan, kept everyone on the dance floor

Honeymoon:

We had a mini-moon in Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls for a few days and are excited to share we just booked our honeymoon in Maldives at a gorgeous resort Siyam Iru Veli we are going in May and have started counting down.
